Looking sharp...

Hey!

So when I stalk something, I stalk it hard. This blazer is no exception.  If you follow me on Pinterest, you may have seen it on my board. I bought it off of eBay and noticed that it wasn't carried in my size so I contacted the seller and asked if he could make one in a larger size and he agreed! So even though it doesn't close, I am in love with this blazer.  The material is thick and it is very well constructed.  I have been so into the "power shoulder"/"sharp shoulder" trend but alot of the clothes I have seen have not been made to accommodate the plus size figure.  And as you can see, I decided to sport my Motel belt again.  I love the detail of the belt and also love the fact that it is elasticized! Remember what I said in my previous post about taking risks on main range clothing? Well this belt is a size large and has ridiculous stretch to it.  Check out the leopard detail! It makes me want to ROAAAAAR (like a dungeon dragon) every time I wear it!

I also decided to give my curly wig a bit of a break (although I anticipate it getting alot of use this summer).  My own hair is just at my shoulders but I decided to style it as a "mock" bob by pinning it under.  I think I like it.  I'm not really a fan of hair in my face but I could get used to the side bang. After these pictures were taken, I was holding my daughter and she literally grabbed my bang with her hand and yanked as hard as she could.  I could literally hear the sound of my hair ripping from the root! So needless to say, I won't be rocking the side bang around her anytime soon :-/.

What do you all think of the jacket? Is the "sharp shoulder" look something you can envision yourself wearing? How would you rock the blazer?

Lastly, I know I don't say it nearly enough but thanks for reading my blog! You all rock and I absolutely love reading all your comments! <3

Big hair, don't care...

Hi!

Today was a special day today because my wig came in the mail!  I've been trying to experiment with different hair styles for the summer and spotted this wig online.  Well, it came today and of course I had to try it on.  And after I tried it on, of course I had to build an outfit around it! I'm of the adage that if you have big hair, you have to have a fierce outfit to back it up.  Granted, this outfit isn't as fierce as I would like, but it's almost there.  I could've done without the brown clutch in the first pic but my hubby insisted that I needed to be holding something.  Stick to takin' photos buddy!
So what do you think of my wig? Too much?

Obligatory "sexy" pose.  This is some biiiig hair!

And oh! Before I forget, let me show you this dress I got on Ashley Stewart!  I was debating if I should return it but I think I will keep it.  I love the crazy colors! I think it will be perfect for the summer. What do you think of the dress? Keeper?

The mom cut

Hello!

This week has been marked by prodigious amounts of eating.  Yesterday was the annual holiday potluck for our floor at my job and today, another Bureau was having a potluck celebration.  I was smart enough to wear stretchy pants for the occasion.  I wanted to show you all how I spruced up this outfit by adding several pops of color.  By itself, the polka dot shirt from Forever 21 is very “tent-ish”—I probably could’ve sized down to an XL with no problem.  I decided to add my Pieces color block belt (it's only $9 on ASOS!) to break up the monochrome colors.  This belt is awesome on so many levels.  First, it features an elasticized back. Secondly, said elasticized back is neon pink! Of course I had to break out my neon pink Corso Como ballet flats for the outfit (to do anything else would’ve been just plain wrong).  In retrospect, I probably should've worn by skinny ponte pants instead of these boot cut pants.  I think the tapered leg of a skinny pant would have given the entire outfit a sleeker look.

I’m still trying  to figure out what to do with my hair after removing my extensions.  Although I love being able to go back and forth between short and long styles,  I think I need to give the extensions a break for a while.  So how are you liking my “mom cut”? I’m a bit tempted to put in some highlights. Do I look really different with shorter hair? All I can say is thank goodness for my flat iron (a remarkable Sedu) or my hair would be all over the place (think Michelle Duggar).

Back of belt.  An aside: don't you hate it when pants do that funky crinkly thing in the inner thigh area? Its enough to make me go mad!
