Exposed arms...

Hi All!

It's been over 2 weeks since my last post and I am sorry! My Dad wanted to borrow his camera back so I had to borrow my sisters.  Her camera is not the greatest but it was better than nothing.  I definitely need to invest in my own camera and will be doing so soon.

Today was 70 degrees in Boston and it was so lovely! Whenever I am running errands I am usually scowling because my "To Do" list on most weekends is like 10 miles long.  Today, I had a grin on my face for most of the day.  Not only was the weather beautiful, but people were actually pleasant! Today I wore my new ditsy leaf dress I got from F21 recently.  I almost didn't buy it because I thought the pattern would look a bit juvenile on me.  I'm glad I bought it because the print is very colorful and playful and helped to brighten up my mood even more.  The purchase of this particular dress is significant because I usually don't wear clothes that show my arms.  Recently however, I decided I would step out of my comfort zone and do my best to "get over" things like bare arms...you only live once right?  Admittedly, I felt like wearing a cardigan but I deliberately left it at home so the world could see my arms in all their glory.  My apologies in advance for the grainy photos and the partial date stamp...I forgot to deactivate the feature on the camera!

A lament...

So I have some bad news...my camera is broken! Well, I actually smashed it in a fury but still. So this means that my outfit posts are going to be on pause temporarily until I get my act together. Luckily, I did take some outfit pics pre-smashage so I can definitely share those with you.

Quick vent: what the heck is up with all the leopard patterned...everything I am seeing lately? It's a bit overkill in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I am all for animal prints in small doses but this trend seems to be on steroids or something. What do you all think? It seems that everywhere I turn I'm seeing something that shouldn't be in leopard print completely covered in it...let's give this trend a rest ok? ok. thanks.

So onto the pics...I want to share with you a couple of pics of me in my tribal tunic dress from Fashion to Figure. It was my very first purchase from them ever since seeing this particular piece on Gabi's blog. I had it in my closet forever and finally decided to dust it off and see how I could style it. I'm on the fence of the pic of me with a red clutch. My inital thought was to give the outfit some color because I can't do 100% monochromatic anything. I don't know if the sheen from the clutch throws it all off--it seems as though the red should be more of a muted red...what do you think? The actual tunic is divine. It is super soft and has amazing stretch to it. The one thing I do not like about it is the fact that it has attached sleeves. I remedied that problem by using a belt which I think gives the tunic a bit more contour.

And because I am who I am, I decided to take another pic of me with a black clutch. I don't know which I like better though...

Since purchasing this piece, I've made several purchases at FTF since. They seem to be a great company who are very attuned to their client base. I am looking forward to see what else they have in store in the coming weeks!

Best dressed...

What cruelty is this that I can't wear form-fitting dresses now? Well, I guess I could....but the dresses I'm coveting seem to lose their allure when you throw in a preggy belly into the mix.  Not to say that I'm ashamed of my belly...but still...there is a time and place for everything afterall.
I have my eye on this dress from Kiyonna.  Isn't it gorge?
The fit looks amazing as does the rouching.  Some fashion "experts" advise plus-sized women to stay away from rouching because they say it accentuates the midriff area.  I say go for it!  Rouching can add texture and appeal to any plain dress.

So it is no secret that I am absolutely obsessed with ASOS.  Their styles are cutting edge and the fit on many of their pieces is spectacular.  This dress reminds me somewhat of this dress I purchased from Jibri not too long ago.  I'm really liking the dotted mesh pattern and the sweetheart bustline.

This is another dress from ASOS and I chose it for its rich blue hue.  It is from the main range. I am not really crazy about tulip-shaped hems but I would make an exception for this particular dress. The surplice top, the blousson sleeves, the puff shoulders...all details I absolutely adore!

This dress reminds me of the famous Kiyonna scalloped boudoir dress that I have in brown.  This dress however, is shorter and has a distinctive v-neck (Kiyonna's dress is surplice).  There is something about lace that is so vintage and dainty.  I'm automatically feel as though I am being transported to another time and place when I put it on.

How badly am I kicking myself for not purchasing this rouched convertible dress from Monif C? Many people are put off by the cost of her dresses but the rouching detail on this particular dress is too amazing too pass up.  I am hoping that the dresses come back in the fall or else I will never forgive myself for not taking the plunge!
